11-12 Mar: Kings Landing 34th Annual Sugar Bush

Kings Landing Historical Site has activities planned for the weekends of both 11-12 Mar and 18-19 Mar, including encampments in the Village, snowshoeing, traditional fare and children’s activities at the King’s Head Inn, and, weather-permitting, even sleigh rides. The highlight for many will be the 19th century sugaring demonstration with the sweet taste of maple candy on the snow! Admission fees for the site activities are $12/family, $7/adult, and $3.50/child. Maple candy on the snow will be sold for $2 per stick. Come early to join the pancake breakfast!

12 Mar: Crabbe Mountain Snow Cross

Get your fat bikes, mountain bikes, and downhill bikes shined up for this super fun event! Ride Crabbe Mountain from top to bottom on a 1.8 km course with rollers, turns, and berms! You can go as fast as you like or joy ride down – the racers will be timed but you don’t have to race. Studded and non studded, skinny and fat tires… are all welcome!

12 Mar: Down the Keg 3 km Run

Presented by the New Brunswick Beer Run, this 3 km run is held on a Sunday with the goal of providing a bit of ‘hair of the dog’ for your Saturday night. Cost is $5/person, with all money going to the Canadian Diabetes Association. There will be no shirts, no bibs, no frills, and no timers… but, there will be free beer. You must run the 3 km to get the beer…

Ascent NB will host a full-day ice climbing clinic. The cost is $100 for non-members (and includes an Ascent NB membership thru 1 Apr 2018) and $60 for members (including all UNB Rock and Ice members). All technical gear is provided (boots, crampons, ice tools, helmets, harnesses), and all you’ll need to bring is layered warm, waterproof clothing, your lunch, and your psyche!
